Adelante Media Group announced today that it had reached a multi-year agreement with Univision for exclusive broadcast rights to the number one syndicated Spanish morning show in radio, “Piolín por la Mañana” (Piolín in the Morning) in Sacramento and Modesto. The show will debut tomorrow on KGRB and KBBU after many top rated years on the Entravision stations in those markets

“Today is a great day for Adelante”, said Juan Gonzalez, Director of Programming and New Media. “I cannot express how excited we are having Piolín join our team in AM drive in Sacramento and Modesto, marrying our highly successful La GranD Regional Mexican music format with the best morning show in the country. We’ve been lucky to have Eddie with us in six other markets the past year and it’s proven to be a guaranteed formula for success. This changes everything in Sacramento and Modesto.”

Piolin currently airs in over 50 markets covering 24 states and stars Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo. The show weaves news, entertainment, community service and social consciousness to empower, motivate and educate its audience. It traditionally is the number one most listened to Spanish morning show in most of its markets.

Ed Krampf, Adelante’s Chief Operating Officer commented, “This is a classic “game changer” for our company and these markets and continues our dedication to putting together the finest broadcast company in America. We seek the best talent, the best people, and the best ideas, and affiliating with Piolin fits all those ideals. The Spanish radio landscape in Sacramento and Modesto has changed overnight!”

“Adelante is Spanish for “moving forward and we’ve taken another big step today,” said Jay Meyers, CEO of Adelante Media Group. “We are fast becoming radio’s “destination company” in all of our markets, the place where the best people want to come to work because they know that here their talent and abilities will be respected, nurtured and set free to be as great as they can be. This multi-year deal with the Piolin show sends a strong message in Sacramento and Modesto, and around the country as to what this company is all about.

Adelante Media Group owns and operates radio and television stations in nine emerging Hispanic markets and specializes in great Spanish Language formats. In addition, the company distributes two network 24/7 music formats, Regional Mexican LaGranD and Spanish CHR Latino. The networks are available for affiliation nationwide.
